FIFA Removes Peru As Host For U-17 World Cup

Peru won’t be the host of the FIFA soccer World Cup for athletes under 17 years of age. “FIFA decided to remove the South American country as a host of the event that was going to take place this year in October”, Sport informed.

The reason has to do with Peru not meeting the total of requirements, more specifically the Governmental Guarantee Nº8 that is related to taxes.

The news was known through a statement released by FIFA on their website. There they said that after several visits done by FIFA inspectors and meeting with the Peruvian Soccer Federation (FPF) the Council Bureau decided that the 2019 U-17 World Cup will not take place in Peru.

On their part, FPF announced that despite the efforts, Peru has been suspended as a host of the event.

FIFA needs to find a new host and Brazil is a possibility, according to Sport.
