Peru announced the first edition of the Seafood Lima 2019 fair that will take place between November 6 and 8 of this year, accompanied by the ninth edition of the Expo Pesca y Acuícola, the leading trade show of the region.
“This business platform will attract exhibitors not only from Peru but also from the main exporting countries of seafood, from America, Europe and Asia”, Seafood Lima said on a press release.
Peru is a leading country in the fishing and aquaculture sector. In 2018 the country exported $3.4 million US dollars of fishery products and marine ingredients. It also imports around $250 million US dollars in seafood, according to the statement from the fair.
They are expecting approximately 9,000 top-tier international buyers during the three days the fair will be taking place.
“We are joining efforts with PRODUCE, MINCETUR, PROMPERU and various entities of the public and private sector so that Peru has the most important fishing fair in Latin America,” Alfonso Miranda, president of Seafood Lima 2019 said.
