The Minister of Development and Social Inclusion, Liliana La Rosa, said that the development of infrastructure projects in the country encourages the fight against poverty because they provide accessibility and connectivity to the most vulnerable populations.
According to her, there are places in extreme poverty that are inaccessible, which makes services more expensive.
“For example, Alto Putumayo in Loreto is an area of extreme poverty and the gas cylinder costs 120 soles because the area is not accessible”, La Rosa told Andina Agency, according to El Peruano.
The minister considered that greater connectivity is needed in the country and this can occur with the construction of roads and airports such as Chinchero in Cusco.
Recently the President of the Republic, Martín Vizcarra, outlined the importance of the implementation of the Chinchero International Airport project and announced that the private investment of a third group of seven airports is being promoted: Ilo, Jaén, Jauja, Chimbote, Yurimaguas, Rioja and Tingo María.
