Korea Airports Corporation Will Lead The Construction Of The Chinchero Airport

A South Korean consortium led by Korea Airports Corporation (KAC) won the deal to manage the construction of the Chinchero airport near Machu Picchu in Peru.

The project, valued at $660 million US dollars, according to Global Construction Review. “The team will lead work on Chinchero International Airport, near the former Inca capital of Cuzco. When it opens in 2024, it will have a single 4km-long runway and a capacity of up to 5.7 million passengers a year”, they wrote.

This consortium will select construction firms, do quality inspections, design review and commissioning, among other tasks.
