The mayor of Lima, Jorge Muñoz, said on Tuesday that he is evaluating having a unique card that facilitates transport in the capital for athletes and citizens, during the Pan American Games 2019.

According to El Comercio, this idea comes from the fact that the Metropolitan and the Lima Metro, which are mass transit services in the city, use different cards as a means of payment.
“It’s a topic that is being evaluated, which is being put on the table”, Muñoz said. “Let’s not forget that in one hand you have Line 1 of the Lima Metro that operates with a certain autonomy and on the other hand, the Metropolitan”, he added.

The mayor also informed about a series of public works taking place to improve transportation in the capital of Peru. He is planning by taking into account the approximate 6,200 athletes who will be competing in the Pan Am and Parapan Am Games this year and moving through the city.
