Are you looking to relocate? Have you considered living abroad in Peru? If your general level of happiness is of any value to you, then this just may be the country for you.
According to a recent survey carried out by InterNations, an expat support network, Peru is considered one of the top 30 happiest countries for expats. Based in Germany, InterNations received responses from some 20,000 expats in 187 countries. The survey asked expats to rank their happiness based on two categories: life in general and the relationship with their significant other.
Of the respondents living abroad in Peru, 76% consider themselves happy overall. Though Peru has become an international standout for its gastronomy, it seems expats are finding other reasons to make living abroad in Peru enjoyable. The country's low cost of living, simple visa process, rich history and culture, weather and welcoming locals have made Peru an attractive place for people looking to relocate.
Despite the high levels of happiness, moving abroad is never easy. Its recommended to do your own research and take sage advice from experienced expats.
Top contenders for the destination with happiest expats overall are: Mexico (90% of respondents considered happy overall), Spain (89%), and Vietnam (88%).
