More Artists Will Record Videos In Peru

Recently, the Colombian singer Carlos Vives released his video clip Mañana, which was shot in Peru, but he is not the only artist who wishes to use the Inca country as the ambient for their audiovisual productions.

“We signed a contract with Sony Music for a campaign with two artists from their catalog, the first was Carlos Vives in Lima, and the second will be recorded in the city of Cusco with an Anglo-Saxon artist,” said Isabella Falco, director of communications at Imagen País of Promperú, according to El Comercio.

The name of the artist has not been released yet, but it could be anyone from the Sony Music catalog, such as Adele, Alicia Keys, Christina Aguilera, Camila Cabello, Chris Brown, Jennifer Lopez, Harry Styles, Miley Cyrus, MGMT, Justin Timberlake, Depeche Mode, or others.

“We do not want to advance anything, but the video will be recorded in various parts of Cusco, not only in Machu Picchu, we must be aware of which artists are promoting albums in these months,” said Falco to the media.

The director of communications also informed that these events are very sensible investments for Peruvian tourism since, for every million views of a video, 80 tourists are generated. “Sony Music has already worked similar campaigns in other countries with excellent results,” Flaco assured.

In addition, Carlos Vives’ video has put Lima in the eyes of the world, and Promperú hopes that it will generate more visits to the country.
