According to El Comercio, Peruvian mothers have changed their preferences when choosing the perfect gift to celebrate their day. Also, they revealed that this holiday is the second most important for commerce in the country after Christmas, followed by Valentine’s Day.
In addition, it was known that this year people will spend more money on Mother’s Day than last year. In 2018 the average was 261 soles and in 2019 it is expected to be 348, which equals 75% increase.
“Within the list of gifts that mothers would not want to receive for their day, household appliances are listed first: 64% of mothers answered that they did not want to receive this type of gift. Second, there are stuffed animals (43.4%), followed by ornaments (36.8%). In this sense, at the bottom of this list are gifts such as cell phones (8.1%), sportswear (8.5%) or money with (11.2%)”, El Comercio wrote.
