In Paracas, the celebrations for the 68 years of the district’s creation began. The agenda includes the First Gastronomic Fair called “Paracas, un mar de sabores”.
The Mayor, Rosario Ramírez Gamboa, informed that 15K visitors are expected to visit the town, counting national and foreign, during this week.
According to Ramírez, in “Paracas, un mar de sabores” typical dishes of the area will be offered, altogether with wines and pisco. “Ceviche, seafood, anticuchos, tamales and desserts will be sold in this fair, as well as wines and pisco that are admired nationally and internationally”, said the Mayor.
In the anniversary week, not only the natural attractions of Paracas will be promoted, but also the variety and richness of its gastronomy. One of the goals of the municipality is to spread the voice about the traditional food and dishes prepared in the area. José Rosas, vice-president of the Paracas’ tourism institute (CAPATUR), assured that the district has the highest density of restaurants in Peru.
The local government also is working to create the Paracas’ brand to promote tourism and social programs in this region.
State authorities were in the inaugural event, alongside businessmen. Also, Sylvia Elizalde Dioses, from Santa Cruz, was crowned as Miss Paracas 2019, in a group of nine candidates.
Several activities in Playa El Chaco, such as sculptures in the sand, beach volley, and a concert with local bands are scheduled for this Monday March, 3rd.
