The national economic activity would have grown more than 3% in February of this year, surpassing the advance registered in the same month of 2018 (2.7%), said the president of the Central Reserve Bank (BCR), Julio Velarde, to El Peruano.

“In January the expansion was 1.58%, but the non-primary sector linked to construction, manufacturing and services grew 3.5% which is not a bad result”, Velarde said.

As for public investment, he said that the Government is adjusting the downward projection for the results the country has had in the first months.

On the other hand, Velarde said that, although delinquency has slightly increased in the financial system, this indicator “is at extremely low levels”, lower than in most of the countries of the region, El Peruano informed.

He also said that the conflict between the communities and the Las Bambas mine does not significantly affect the national economy.
