Peru is doing great in the Pan American 2019 Games taking place in the capital city, Lima, at its 8th day with 11 medals won so far.
The country with the most medals is still the United States, a country that has already achieved 66, 29 of them gold. Then, Mexico follows with 44, 13 of them gold.
By the end of July 30th, Peruvian Leodan Pezo obtained a bronze medal in men’s boxing after losing against Cuban Lázaro Álvarez. Now, the country will test itself in surf and badminton.
But Peru is not only succeeding in boxing. So far, the athletes have obtained four gold medals, two silver and five bronze.
Two of the gold medals went to the men’s and women’s marathon, a third in squash and a fourth in water ski. The two silvers were achieved in taekwondo poomsae and the bronze goes as follows: weightlifting, squash doubles, mixed poomsae pairs and men’s boxing (two medals).
