Germán Juárez, prosecutor and part of the Lava Jato team in Peru requested judge María de los Ángeles Álvarez to add to the criminal investigation 16 Peruvian and international construction companies that allegedly are part of a group called “The Construction Club”.
“According to a document the newspaper Gestión had access to, the prosecution is requesting to increase the investigation to 17 companies and seek information from a total of 31”, América Economía wrote.
If these companies are found guilty they could be forced to pay a fine, be dissolved or prevented to be hired by the State, according to Gestión who cited official judicial sources.
Among the companies is Odebrecht that has already admitted to illegal activities, ex-partners of companies that also committed criminal acts and others that are only being investigated for corruption.
“Obrainsa, Constructora Málaga Hnos, GyM, ICCGSA, Casa, JOHE, Queiroz Galvao Perú, Andrade Gutierrez Engenharia Perú, Superconcreto del Perú, Energoprojekt Niskogradnja Perú, Conalvias, Obrascon Huarte Lain, Constructuores y Mineros Contratistas Generales, Mota – Engil Perú, San Martín Contratistas, and Grupo Plaza”, said América Economía that this is the list of companies that make up The Construction Club.
