Retablo, a Peruvian film directed by Álvaro Delgado Aparicio will donate all of its box office income to the Inspira shelter for children, founded by Dr. Ricardo Pun.

So far, as they informed on a press release, the movie has been seen by more than 5,500 people and as a way to show their “love and humanity”, they will donate their earnings to Dr. Pun’s project, a person who won the award as CNN Hero of the Year in 2018.

“Retablo is a film made from the heart because we believe in love. Love enables helping each other; in that sense, we have decided to support this cause,” informed the director of the film on a press release.

This money will be used for the construction of a new Inspira shelter which would have space for 126 people, more than four times the capacity of the current one.

Inspira is a temporary home for children with cancer who come from the interior of the country to receive treatment in hospitals in Lima”, they explained. “Due to lack of resources to pay for their stays, in many cases, they are forced to return before finishing their therapies putting their lives at greater risk”, they continued.

So far, Retablo has received 27 international awards and received positive comments from the critics and the public. It is a movie mostly spoken in Quechua and filmed in natural settings in the Sierra de Ayacucho.
