Despite having job offers from Argentina and Colombia, Ricardo Gareca signed his renovation with the Peruvian national soccer team in regards to Qatar 2022.
“The conversations for the renewal of Gareca lasted more than a week because they coincided with a scandal of audios of judges, which complicated the situation of president Edwin Oviedo and sparked an internal crisis in the institution with resignations of managers”, La República explained. Oviedo is the head of the Peruvian Soccer Federation (FPF).
The media also announced that one of the first of Ricardo Gareca’s tasks will be to prepare the team for the international friendly matches to be played against the Netherlands (September 6), Germany (September 9), and Chile (October 12).
“Ricardo Gareca must also establish his work plan with the ‘bicolor’ for the Copa América of Brazil in 2019 and the Qatar 2022 Qualifiers that begin in October”, La República wrote.
