Peruvian surfer Sofia Mulanovich obtained the gold medal at the 2019 ISA World Surfing Games held in Japan.

“Mulanovich recorded the winning time of 13.80 to lead the women’s competition at Miyazaki Beach”, wrote Andina News Agency.

The surfer told the press that she is very happy and excited and that she is always motivated by her family and friends.

“I feel the magic. Everything I’ve accomplished in my life makes me feel emotional. I’ve achieved all this because everything aligned,” she told the agency.

Despite having problems with her board, Mulanovich managed to obtain the maximum win. This is the second time she is champion after 15 years of earning ISA gold.

“With this win, Mulanovich enters an elite tier of surfers that have two ISA gold medals to their names”, said Andina. She will also have more chances now for qualifying for Tokyo 2020.
