Sky Airline Peru was granted a permit by the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) to operate locally for a period for four years transporting cargo, mail and passengers.
“Juan Carlos Pavic, general director of Civil Aeronautics of the MTC, affirmed on Thursday that the complete certification process of Sky Airline Peru has already concluded,” according to El Comercio.
In October 2018, Sky Airlines CFO, José Ignacio Dougnac, told El Comercio that the airline planned to allocate two of its new Airbus A320neo aircraft – which consume 30% less fuel per seat – for their domestic connections in Peru. This fleet, he said, was going to allow the reduction of the price of its tickets per stretch.
“The low-cost domestic flights, according to the MTC, are Pucallpa, Arequipa, Cusco, Iquitos, Piura, Tarapoto and Trujillo”, said the aforementioned media.
José Raúl Vargas, CEO of this airline, said last November that it was very possible that the rates of these flights could be set around 59.90 soles per segment.
