I took a complete stranger with me to Machu Picchu. ⛰
Meet Begonia, she’s lived in Cusco her entire life and never been able to visit the World Wonder that is Machu Picchu. For reference, Cusco is only 3 hours away from Machu Picchu, yet many locals have never been to the ancient Inca citadel. But today, because of some incredible supporters, we were able to pay for her entire trip up the mountain!
As humans we have a responsibility to take care of our planet, and as travelers we have a responsibility to take care of the communities we travel to.
There are many ways you can do this. You can help those on the streets with food, clothing, water, or money; you can volunteer with a local organization a few times while you’re in the area, or you can go above and beyond, get creative, and make a lasting difference!
As a fellow traveler I challenge you to find a creative way to give back on your next trip! this was mine! Get outside of your comfort zone, focus on one other individual, and make it happen!
You’d be surprised at what impact you can have with 30 seconds of your time.
