In life there are many ways you can leave a legacy behind: you can write a good book that may turn to be a best-seller, you can take some heroic actions for which you will be remembered, you can live an exemplary life and touch hearts and souls, or you can create a cocktail that will be worldwide known, and join the privileged club of rum classics such as Mojitos, Daiquiris, and others.
The Bacardi Legacy Championship Final, and this years contender from Peru
Across the globe, bartenders are getting excited for the Bacardi Legacy Championship Final competition day, taking place this May in Amsterdam. And last week in Peru, three finalists competed against eachother in order to earn a place at the competition. Each presented their cocktail creations with crowds cheering in what turned out to be a busy night at the Westin in San Isidro.
From three finalists, one winner was chosen to represent Peru
Each competitor told the story that inspired the creation of the drink while flipping, juggling, mixing, and lots of shaking. An expert three-panel jury examined and tasted each of the three drinks and evaluated them based on their originality, appearance, flavor, presentation techniques, and the possibility for replicating it.
The three finalists were Ademar Gutierrez Prada from Bottega Dasso presenting ‘Harmony 8’, Renzo Bermudez Puente with ‘No Confort’, and Rolando Arias from Statera presenting ‘Volver

This year’s winner was Rolando Arias from Statera with his original rum-based drink with oatmeal, green apple, anise
