Tourists from the United States and Japan purchased most tickets for the staging of Inti Raymi, the festival of the sun, to be held on June 24 in Cusco.

Manuel Pancorbo Echea, manager of the Municipal Company of Celebrations of Cusco (Emufec), organizer of the festivity, informed Andina News Agency of the great expectation that exists in the world for this event.

“Tourists have some information about the Emufec, which has a business policy to participate in international fairs and disseminate the festivities of Cusco”, he told the media.

More than 3,600 tickets have been sold so far for Inti Raymi, which will take place in three different environments: the Inca temple of Korikancha, the main square and the archaeological park of Machu Picchu.

Also, as it was revealed several weeks ago, plastic and styrofoam containers will be banned from this celebration.
