TripAdvisor recently published the most popular South American destinations and Peru made it to the list with five: Cusco, Lima, Urubamba, Arequipa and Machu Picchu.
Cusco made it to the top 25 and therefore is the most visited place in Peru, followed by Lima, according to TripAdvisor.
As for the Peruvian capital, Lima, El Peruano said that it is preferred before other cities from the region, such as Buenos Aires, Bogota and Santiago de Chile.
Then, in 18th place, the Urubamba province made it to the list. “Visitors describe it as an extraordinary destiny to tour and stay for a few days”, El Peruano wrote.
Arequipa is considered by travelers as “magical” for its architecture and landscapes.
Finally, Machu Picchu is the fifth preferred destination according to TripAdvisor.
