After the participation of the Peruvian team in the World Cup, there will surely be some changes in the short and mid-term to improve even more.

“Messages of pride, total demonstrations of support, intentions from all fronts so that this process of the Peruvian selection continues”, said El Comercio today. “However, the first thing is to culminate in the best way this participation in the World Cup and try to add the first points of this tournament against Australia”, they added. This game will take place on Tuesday, June 26 at 9:00 am, local Peruvian time.

After the World Cup ends for Peru, there will be a “mini-tour” through Europe starting three months from now. Then, a renewal of the technical command of the team will take place. “The Peruvian Football Federation has been working in recent months in an attractive proposal for Ricardo Gareca to stay for four more years and lead the process to the Qualifiers for Qatar 2022”, explained El Comercio.

Also, on September 6, Peru will visit the Netherlands for a game, and three days later the team will do the same against Germany.

As for the team members, it is believed that if Ricardo Gareca continues in office, the same 23 players that have competed in the World Cup will continue in September, with the possibility of adding players like Christian Benavente, Luis Abram, Sergio Peña, and Beto da Silva. As for older players like Alberto Rodríguez, Paolo Guerrero, and Jefferson Farfán, all born in 1984, there is no plan to dismiss them yet.

Regarding the case of Paolo Guerrero and his ban from playing, there is still a pronouncement to come from the Arbitral Tribunal of Sport (TAS) that will decide his fate.
