Peru has an interest in provoking Chilean government, Chilean Air Force Head says

According to El Comercio, the Head of Chilean Air Force (FACH) Gen. Ricardo Ortega, declared that the capture of the spy Victor Ariza Mendoza “proves that Alan Garcias's goverment has an interest on provoking La Moneda.” (La Moneda is the name of Chile's Governmental Palace).

Declaring to Chilean press, Gen. Ortega said after the arrest of Air Force NCO Victor Ariza Mendoza, that it is a “response to interests that are way beyond my capabilities of analysis.”

He remarked, however, that "anyone with a little intelligence will realize that there is an interest to create 'noise' that affects us as a country."

He said that "it is no coincidence" that the spy's arrest has occurred just when the US announced that they would authorize FACH to purchase missiles AIM-120C-7 for the 18 F-16 planes that Chile will buy in Netherlands.

"At this stage of the game, I don't believe in coincidences," Ortega said.

Chile usually gets "caught" in peruvian smear jobs and propaganda. From my experiences in spending time in both countries, it seems to me that chileans don't give a fraction as much thought to peruvians as peruvians do to them. I suspect the same goes for their military.

The fact is that the only country in the region with imperialism reminiscence and unachieved greatness dreams is Peru.  Ask Ecuador; the only country in the region that has attacked another this century has been Peru.  The only country trying to expand their borders in the region is Peru.  Every time Peru's economy makes a little progress, airs of war with either Ecuador or Chile blows in Peruvians military dreams.  It is true that anti Chilean propaganda is thought in schools in Peru and Bolivia and helps capture votes in every election.  You don't see that in Chile.  We sadly see this magnificent country 10 folds richer than Chile barely feeding his population and huge resources concentrated in 1% of the population; the rest wasted in political distractions.  Hate fueled by fantasies and paranoia.  It is beyond anyone capabilities of analysis.

This response is to pablo valdez,if you do not what really happened on the border with ecuador,then shut your mouth and save your comments.First at all on 1941 the first war with ecuador, ecuador was the agresor claiming territories as a always that do not belong to them,same as your patetic country that claims that part of our sea belong to them,unfortunaly we are surrender with countries that want our lands,that otherwise could not get it,your country and ecuador will be always our enemies, Why? because you want it that way not us,review history and you see if you want to see who is the real agresor. ecuador has nothing to claim because the inca empire extended to ecuador all the way if you do not know and extended part of chile but no all the way what is your claim,what is the country that spent 600 millions in dollars in buying weapons,yours chileno ,who is the country that is preparing his army for war,yours chileno,who is the country that every time that has an opportunity to offend peru does it yours,chileno who is the country that claims that el ceviche,el pisco,el

Perucho,  reality is in th eye of the beholder.  History is written by the winners.  Democracy is built on dialog.  I recomend you to concentrate in other news that will make you happier like "Peruvian potatoes will grow in outer space".  This news can really make people proud but likely not create jobs yet, maybe in the future.  Kindly. 
P.S. This could make you happy too: Peruvian Pisco is much better than the Chilean.

History is written by winners?? so you mean the pacific war,the pacific war, was finance by england your allied in that time,otherwise the history would be different,yes we lost, but against england and chile,let me explain you why, the salitre was on that time used as resource by england and located guess where? yes chilean,bolivia antofogasta para ser mas exacto,at first the war was against bolivia,but we have to honor a secret treaty of defense that was signed between peru-bolivia.yes history would be written by winner and also would be different,because the new peruvian generation knows the kind of people you are,and there would be no mercy towards you,if another war arise between your country and mine,and you can bet your roto ass that i will be first at the front,ready to payback.

Peru is always causing problems with Chile.  Little man syndrome at it's finest.  They can't win north, they can't win south, and while south america makes progress Peruvians are fleeing the country to find work.  Chile wouldn't be paying a low level Peruvian military officals via monthly check for matters of no interest.  Just the latest attempt to get attention and complain.

And Albertito, Chile is as fearful of Peru's military as they are Bolivia's navy.   If Peru were to start a war for no reason other than to distract it's people from it's own governments failures they'd be rewarded with the trip home Peru's Gen. Edwin Donayre so classlessly mused about granting Chileans.

Chile makes a convenient scapegoat, keeps nationalism alive in Peru.  The Peruvian government isn't even subtle in the use of propaganda.  Telescreens and the thought police are next.

hey gabriel gonzalez,

chileans are fleeing chile, peruvians aren't fleeing as before, in fact many are returning to peru. peru's economy is growing strong even in the current global economic crisis and it's economy is one of the best and most stable in central and south america. peru is making great progress.

peru won't attack chile, it's just not worth the trouble. what's there to gain anyway, not really much. chile's been trying to take from peru for quite some time: southern territory, pisco, gastronomy, commercial air space, and so forth.

who's aggressively building up their military, well it sure ain't peru. chile must be afraid of something though. just because chile robbed peru of some of their land to the south, doesn't mean peru will lose anything to chile again. don't under estimate peru's fighting spirit. yeah, peru needs to improve in futbol on the international level, i'll give you that much, but don't be so over confident about a fight man, sun tzu, an unseen left hook or a countering back spinning kick from an underdog opponent with heart and spirit can send even a fearful giant crashing to the floor in excruciating pain.

in conclusion, this issue will soon blow over like a feather with the offshore winds and everyone will go about their daily lives as before.

Chile is also always causing problems with Peru, it is called big bully syndrome.

Both nations act towards each other like little children, and a real man would hold both accountable for their actions, not just one or the other.

to gabriel: do not feel so confident about that,sending peruvians back home in a body bags as Coronel Manuel Donayre stated,from him you can see how much we love you:none,it is good to understand each other from here:We do not like you,because so many reasons,but most because you are so arrogants pricks,that think that you can say anything to peru ,and we should shut up,no compadre,you get to offended about coronel donayre,but when your couintry talk shit about peru,you smile right? it is true that you buying more weapons than us,but do not forget that we are much larger people in peru,and as i told you before,history will be written way different,if another war arise,you hipocrits,you are masters in hipocrisy,you should write a book about that,you lucky velasco is dead a truly peruvian not like alan pro-chilean,traitor,you said that you do not care about peruvian army,just keep thinking that way and you will be surprised.

You seem to be more worried about making your gastronomy
more popular than fixing education, health, social issues like poverty etc etc

No,Alan is not credible I'll give you,alan is a thief and also a pro-chilean,Why? because seems to me that he is reciving money coming from chile,otherwise i do not see why he is so good with our enemies,we do not need you in the TLC, we have others countries investing in peru we do not need chile to progress,if tha is what you are thinking,it is true that peru needs a reforma in all what you said,that is why pretty soon is going to be a revolution against los vende patria such as alan garcia,unfourtanaly people had to die innocents and guiltys,that is the only way that we can improve something,"rios de sangre" unfourtanaly, i know my writing is not good but you what i mean,but let me tell you something chileno, all people o most of the people hate you,not because we lost the war but because we do not like arrogants, clear? okay.
