Peru: International Lawsuit against Peruvian State for mining contamination

According to official information, the Inter-American Commission for Human Rights has admitted into court the case on La Oroya, and is holding Peru's government as responsible for crimes against humanity for allowing Doe Run Peru to poison the population of La Oroya with pollution.

The lawsuit was filed by a group of international NGO's, such as the Center for Human Rights (CEDHA), Earthjustice and the Inter American Association for Environmental Defense (AIDA), with the support of the Peruvian Society of Environmental Law, against the Peruvian State.

One of the reasons alleged for accepting the demand are “the lack of commitment and actions to meet the minimum acceptable environmental standards,” in La Oroya, a city listed among the Top Ten Ranking of the most polluted cities in the world.

Doe Run Peru, the company which currently operates in La Oroya one of the largest metal-smelters in the hemisphere, lost its Environmental Certification (that had been granted in 2006 by TUV Rheinland Group auditors) last March.

That Jew really played a number on Peru.

He plundered and polluted La Oroya. Had a blasty when metal prices where the highest on record and when time comes for him to cleran up.  He leaves the company owing $100 million to Peruvian suppliers and wont pay the 150 million clean up bill.

Of course he knows that the lead industry is not a good long term play anymore since car batteries are being replaced for electronic ones in the future.

At least now we know.

Nice one,

Now ther are 2 evils hitting Peru, the ugly chemical polution from the mines and the ugly racist polition from you.

Both things are disgusting and harmful and both he and you should be ashamed of yourselves and both he and you should be spit upon.
