Peru and Jamaica will sign a multi-destination marketing memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the goal to strengthen tourism in both countries.
The minister of tourism of Jamaica, Edmund Bartlett, said to Jamaica Observer that this agreement aims to strengthen partnership and tourism products. Also, it seeks to connect with eco and cultural tourism.
“A major area of the MoU will be to look at how we build our resilience and crisis management capabilities within the region,” said Bartlett in a release from his ministry, as you can read in this website.
On her part, the vice-minister of tourism of Peru, Silvia Ruíz Zarate, welcomed this initiative and believes that both countries have much in common, such as gastronomy, cultural tourism, and small and medium enterprises related to this sector.
“The additional flights scheduled to come on stream will also boost arrivals and help the cultural exchange between both countries,” Zarate said, according to Jamaica Observer.
So far, Jamaica has signed multi-destination MoUs with Mexico, Cuba and the Dominican Republic.
