César Joaquín Clavijo Díaz, who is in the sixth grade of elementary school at La Asunción School, located in the city of Trujillo (La Libertad), wrote the best tourism story about Peru for a contest held across the country.
“César Joaquín won the first place in the II Contest of Tales of Tourist Culture ‘Traveling Letters’, when exceeding 2,144 schoolchildren registered at the national contest”, informed Correo.
The name of the story, according to information from the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism, Mincetur, was “El Perro Pepe”, or “Pepe the Dog”, where the main character is the Peruvian hairless dog.
In the story, he mentions the importance of Pepe as a jealous guardian of the tourist resources of the region, highlighting the importance of not fouling and preserving Trujillo’s cultural heritage. The story also highlights the importance of security that should be provided to tourists, especially minors.
The second place of the contest was for Andrea Salazar Rosario (Callao), and the third for Evelyn Tatiana Huaman Mendoza (Lambayeque).
