President Martin Vizcarra said he was against the Brazilian company Odebrecht continuing to contract with Peru after the corruption scandal known as Lava Jato was uncovered.
“My opinion is that Odebrecht should not continue working in Peru (…) It should not continue providing its engineering services, construction, projects in Peru, because it has disqualified itself to work with Peruvians,” he said in an exclusive interview with RPP.
Vizcarra considers Odebrecht to have contaminated private practice and now there is a lot of distrust among companies, because of the Brazilian construction company.
“The Public Ministry signed an effective collaboration agreement with Odebrecht this month that allows the company to participate in the next tender process for works in Peru”, RPP said, adding that Vizcarra disagrees with this measure.
To the president, “Odebrecht is a company that has done a lot of damage to the country and now all Peruvians are focused on correcting the situation in which we are in because of Odebrecht. ”
