For more than 20 years, cocinemos con Fundades has used Peruvian gastronomy as a tool for positive change; this June first, the dinner Cocinemos con Fundades will return with thirteen of the most relevant restaurants in Lima.
Under one roof, the culinary teams from restaurants La Huaca Pucllana, Isolina, Maido, Astrid y Gastón, Cosme, Mayta, Tragaluz, Osso, Tomo, Kjolle, Baan, Troppo and Mérito will serve over 550 diners 39 different plates from their greatest hits.
Viviana Castillo Devoto, is the event coordinatior and she gave us some of the numbers from last year’s event:
- Over 15,300 minors where attended the Arie Rehab Center for Disability
- 71 abandoned children came into their 5 Nuevo Futuro,, and eleven were adopted.
- over 230 families benefited from their emotional support and prevention of children abandonment.
- In the Alea Youth Center, 157 students were taught soft and hard abilities, 75 were included in the working system, and 121 more were educated on technological and digital abilities
- Thru Pro Labor and in a joint venture with other Latin American ONGs, 650 students and 100 instructors were educated on using digital and technological tools, allowing 194 students to join the Peruvian workforce.
“nuestra cocina nos une” is this year’s premise, a celebration in which Fundades connects the chefs and the community; this also comes in hand with the private sector; Wong supermarkets is their main sponsor, and other brands like BMW and the water brands of AJE are also joining efforts.
The Liquid experience is also a big part of this great night with the support of different importers of high quality bands as Panuts, El Cub de Cata, Le Caveau, La Bottega Di Lucca y Wine Concierge, Spirits by Pernod Ricard and Cocktails by La Mariposario.
