An Exhibition In Madrid Shows Landscapes Of Contemporary Peru

Estratos de un Paisaje is the name of the photographic exhibition by the Jan Muder collection that is part of the Peruvian program at ARCOmadrid this year.

This photograph collection wishes to show a contemporary production of the Andean country and can be visited from February 21 to March 27 at Casa de América in Madrid.

“Under the supervision of the curator Alejandro Castellote, 108 works by 35 authors have been chosen from a concept that is so diverse and that lends itself to as many interpretations as the landscape and the symbolic strata it can contain”, El Periódico wrote.

They also describe the photographs’ absence of characters as a metaphor that allows the spectators to establish links between them and analyze the dystopian characteristic that many associate to the city of Lima.
The essence of Peru, its fierce nature, urban development and economic growth are reflected through the images with the signature and gaze of Roberto Huarcaya, Mariela Agois, Fernando La Rosa, Billy Hare, Cecilia Paredes, Mariano Zuzunaga or Milagros de la Torre, which are some of the photographers whose works can be enjoyed in this exhibition”, El Periódico informed.
