Peru Will Be the Guest of Honor in ARCOmadrid 2019

In one of the most important events in the world of the visual arts, Peru will present a selection of various samples of its contemporary art production.

Peru will be the guest of honor in the 2019 version of ARCOmadrid, an international contemporary art fair organized by IFEMA (Feria de Madrid), one of the five most important trade fair institutions in Europe and the first in Spain.

This information was given by Radio Nacional yesterday, in which they also explained that artists, gallery owners, collectors, curators, cultural managers, and museum directors from all of Ibero-America will observe the staging of Peru in the European country.

This “will help to boost the local art market,” said Culture Minister Alejandro Neyra after the announcement of the Peruvian participation.

The involvement in ARCOmadrid will be coordinated by the Promotion of Peru for Exports and Tourism, Promperú, alongside the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Peru to help the country “position itself in the international public sphere”, wrote Radio Nacional.

ARCOmadrid is one of the most important events in the world in the visual arts, cultural industries, and the contemporary art market scenario, said Neyra to Radio Nacional.

Es Madrid explained also that Sharon Lerner will be in charge of selecting the Peruvian art to be displayed, which will include a varied sample of the contemporary production of Peru.
