The DirectTV Sports Argentinian journalist Gustavo Cherquis believes that the Peruvian national soccer team is a serious candidate to win the Copa América Brasil 2019.
Nevertheless, he was widely criticized on YouTube and called names in the comment section of this social media.
According to El Comercio, Cherquis might not be too far away from the truth, since the Blanquirroja remained undefeated until the World Cup in Russia, and those results didn’t go beyond a 1 to 0.
“Then there would be two friendlies in Europe with an interesting level although with defeats”, the media said.
Based on that and the subsequent victory against Chile, journalist Gustavo Cherquis said that the Peruvian soccer team is a serious candidate to take the next Copa America.
“If Peru had maintained this level in the World Cup, it would have reached final stages without any doubt, it is a great candidate for the Copa América and it is the South American team that is playing the best”, the journalist said.
