The Chamber of Tourism and Foreign Trade of Paracas (CAPATUR) welcomed the announcement made by President Martín Vizcarra in the construction of Lima – Ica Suburban Train with an investment of more than 10 billion soles and that would allow Lima residents to travel to the main localities of the Ica Region.

The head of CAPATUR, Eduardo Jáuregui, said that they would allow more than ten million people from Lima “to enjoy the beaches of Paracas, the mild climate, and its tasty marine gastronomy”, according to a press release.

Paracas has become a rest resort for the population of the capital of Peru, as well as an ideal place for the organization of top-level business and government events.

Jáuregui added that the completion of 63 km of the double track of Ica – Pisco on the Panamericana Sur highway should be accelerated with the investment and execution of the works by the concessionaire CONVIAL.

According to him, the completion of these works will facilitate the arrival of one million tourists to Paracas by 2021.

“With the culmination of the Pisco – Ica double track and the Pisco – Paracas double track, the tourist growth of Ica would be boosted and the goal of one million tourists a year for the Bicentennial would be reached”, he said in a press release.
