The 41st Edition of the Dakar Rally will be held entirely by Peru after the resignations of Bolivia and Chile to host stages of the toughest “raid” in the world.
El Colombiano informed today that the organizers of this rally announced that the next Dakar will take place from January 6 to 17, 2019.
The race’s loop will begin and end in the city of Lima and will have 10 stages.
“The challenges that the pilots will have in this edition will be, mainly, the Peruvian deserts, reason why it will be one of the sandiest Dakar in history“, El Colombiano said.
The event’s organizers also said that the route will be mainly composed of sand and open terrain that will force the participants to put into practice their navigational skills. “It will be a complete challenge”, they said to the media.
The Dakar Rally is an annual competition of rally raid, organized by ASO and takes place on January or by the end of December since its first edition in 1978. It is considered to be one of the toughest rallies in the world, as well as the most famous one.
