The Emirates airline announced that the cargo service will allow Peru’s exports to reach not only Dubai but other cities in the region.
The announcement came after the Expo Peru Dubai 2019 event that took place earlier this month in the capital city of United Arab Emirates. The economic relationship between the countries is only getting stronger. According to Andina, In 2018 Peru registered as the third largest Latin American investor in the country. Similarly, Peru came in second for UAE’s investments in the region.
There is great potential for Peruvian exports with the Emirates cargo flight. Not only will Dubai be a destination for the country’s goods, especially for super foods, but these will reach more of the Middle East market. The UAE is the third largest re-exporter in the world and, similarly, Dubai imports 85% of its food items.
PROMPERU projects that Peru will export USD $1 billion dollars worth of goods to UAE.
