For the first time ever, the “Perú, Mucho Gusto” food fair will arrive in the Moquegua region in 2019, after a great reception of the last edition held in the city of Tumbes.
The fair will take place from 11 to 13 January in Ilo, as part of the 2019 Dakar Rally Peru, and expects to attract more than 20,000 national and foreign visitors. “Likewise, the event will gather 54 gastronomic exhibitors from the 25 regions of the country, who will elaborate exquisite dishes with supplies from all corners of our territory”, El Comercio informed.
Some of the dishes you can expect to find are the Ocopa a la Arequipeña, tacneño marinade, marine pizza, mixed grilled (lamb, pork and chicken) and artisan quinoa ice cream.
In addition, since Moquegua will be the fair’s host, there will also be a special space dedicated to its cuisine and people will be able to try the pork chop with plum sauce and the typical Moqueguan fried cuy.
“Undoubtedly this will be a celebration of Peruvian cuisine where the public can enjoy the best of culture, art, supplies and crafts of the various regions of Peru”, according to El Comercio.
