The participation of the Peruvian State in the chairmanship of the board of administration of the International Labor Organization (ILO) 2018-2019 was declared of sectoral interest by the Ministry of Labor and Employment Promotion (MTPE).

This was done through ministerial resolution 185-2018 of the MTPE, said Andina News Agency.

The presidency of the ILO verifies compliance with labor standards worldwide and on issues such as the promotion of youth employment, gender equality and the fight against labor informality.

Among other topics, they work on the eradication of the worst forms of child labor and forced labor, which will result in concrete benefits for the population.
This position allows strengthening the presence of Peru in executive bodies of the United Nations system.
“In this regard, the Government created a working group to serve as a support to plan, coordinate and approve the actions of the chairmanship of the ILO’s administrative council”, wrote Andina, adding that it will be installed within 15 days of the entry into force of the resolution and will be made up of members of the MTPE.
