The United States is interested in expanding their cooperation with Peru.
President Martín Vizcarra, expressed yesterday his will for Peru to substantially increase its trade and investment ties with the United States, during a bilateral meeting with the president of the Chamber of Commerce of that country, Thomas J. Donohue, wrote Andina News Agency.
“In the meeting, which took place in the context of the III Business Summit of the Americas, the president highlighted the excellent level of bilateral relations with the United States, one of Peru’s main trading partners.”, the news agency said.
Vizcarra also pointed out the priority to fight corruption in impact positively the growth of the economy in Peru. He said that the opening of new markets, the promotion of free trade, and the investment flow are factors that will contribute to this objective.
The Peru – United States Trade Promotion Agreement was highlighted in the meeting as well because of its “complementary nature of their economies and the enormous potential that leads to the future consolidation of this trade exchange.”, said Andina.
On their part, the United States is interested in expanding cooperation with Peru foreign trade and investment, emphasizing on technological innovation and energy.
Donohue “recognized the institutional strength of Peru, by overcoming the recent political crisis in which the country consolidated its democratic and economic stability.”, said Andina.
