Peru Will Be Guest Of Honor At Chile’s Book Fair

Peru will be the guest of honor at the 38th International Book Fair of Santiago de Chile (FILSA), which will begin next Thursday at the Estación Mapocho Cultural Center located in this city.

FILSA will be extended until November 11 and will stand out among for having other modalities present, such as theater and contemporary dance performances for young people, along with the traditional reading, cinema and gastronomy evenings”, informed Prensa Latina.

The event will pay homage to the Chilean authors Vicente Huidobro, 70 years after his death, and to Poli Délano, who died last year. Nobel Prize Mario Vargas Llosa will be also present at this fair.

The Peruvian pavilion at the Mapocho Cultural Center, a magnificent building with a strong French accent in its architecture, will receive 12,000 books from 100 publishing houses of the Inca nation, as well as a children’s area and a sound map of indigenous languages”, the aforementioned media explained.

In addition, with the slogan of “Vive tu Cuento”, FILSA 2018 will dedicate a space to the cinema, with films from Peru, Argentina, Uruguay and Chile.

Also, the Peruvian delegation will present the exhibitions “Intensity and height of Peruvian literature”, from the Casa de la Literatura in Lima, and “Belleza peruana”, by photographer Yayo López.
