Tourism In Central Peru Increased 10.4% In 2018

According to numbers published by the Business Research Center of Peru Cámaras, the central region of the country registered 3.2 million tourists, both domestic and foreign in 2018, which represents a 10.4% increase.

However, Andina News Agency informed that domestic tourists increased by 12.1% and international ones decreased by 10.2%.

Some of the regions of central Peru, such as Ica, had a significant increase of tourists last year, reaching more than one million.

For its part, the Ancash region reported 573,252 arrivals last year, equivalent to an increase of 6.2%, as a result of greater uptake of national and foreign visitors.

Junin recorded 556,178 tourists, that is, 14.1% more than the previous year. Likewise, the region of Huánuco received 326,494 tourists, which was also a 7.4% increase.

The region of Ayacucho registered 295,278 arrivals last year, equivalent to an increase of 32.7% and Apurímac reported 232,816, which represented 10% more than the previous year.

As for Pasco, there was a 24.8% increase of tourists and in Huancavelica 7.9%.
