A team of students from the Universidad Católica designed and built a vehicle capable of traveling the surface of Mars, and next week will represent Peru in the NASA Human Exploration Rover Challenge, an important competition that has been organized by NASA for 25 years.
“This year the Peruvian team goes for the greatest recognition”, said Perú 21. To achieve it these students have completely redesigned the vehicle to human propulsion. They presented this vehicle in a competition
The redesign will allow two people to be inside the vehicle and it will be lighter, made of aluminum and steel.
“It has 3 wheels and it is lighter than the previous one, but at the same time it is more resistant, with better welding”, explained to the Andina Agency, Muriel Castillo, communications chief of the Deimos Peru project, integrated by students of Industrial Engineering, Mechanics and Communications of the PUCP, said Perú 21.
