(LIP-ir) -- Peru's Minister of Foreign Affairs, José García Belaunde, considered that the fact that Chile's government called home its ambassador in Lima, to be normal.

Minister Garcia assured that the dispute over the maritime boundaries should not get in the way of a good bilateral relationship between Peru and Chile.

"It (the call) is a very common diplomatic practice when there is a new situation or a situation that has drawn a lot of attention, as has this one, apparently," stated Peru's Minister when he arrived to Lima after a visit to Colombia.

García Belaunde assured that the border dispute should not, in any way, be an obstacle in maintaining a good relationship with Chile. "We have a positive agenda we need to work on, we are civilized countries that should resolve our differences in a cordial manner," said García Belaunde.

Chile's government called home its ambassador, Cristián Barros, after the publication of the maritime border map, in Peru's official government newspaper El Peruano, that showed that an area of the Pacific Ocean that is under Chile's control - rightfully belongs to Peru. Barros left Peru for Santiago on Monday night, without making any statements.

Chilean government spokesman Ricardo Lagos Weber, stated that Peru's actions were 'surprising and unacceptable.' Patricio Walker, speaker of the lower house of the Chilean Congress, stated that the publication of the map was an 'open provocation' and canceled a planned visit to Lima where he was to meet with Peru's President Alan Garcia.

The map is part of the case Peru will take to the International Court at The Hague.

Peru can't allow Chile to steal what is ours.

No matter if they threat us with weapons and bombs, they don't have the right to establish their overlordship on that part of our sea.

Ummm, Tino... hello? That part of the sea is currently Chile's, so I don't think it's Chile who wants to do the taking away. Just a thought...

In times of the Peruvian president Bustamante y Rivero, it's settled that the Peruvian overlordship on the Pacific Ocean is spread 200 miles away from the Coast. The borders that are limiting the sea are located along the frontiers of Peru and Chile, but Chile steals most of our area defined by Peru at these times. There's an invention proposed on the earlier 50s by Chile to establish their dominion on our waters that is clearly confused with a deal between Peru and Chile to share that area in question, that deal was suposed to be an agreement for free fishing on our waters (it helps with a part of commercial exchange with our neighbours). Threats from Chile will be only intents to scare us, someday Peru will enter to another fight (I think it's clear that it's highly possible to start another war with Chile).

I am sorry for the surprising comment but I think that, according to the history written about South America, Chile stole all what Peru had, starting with our territories where Peru developed the Guano in the War on the Pacific (now Arica and Tarapacá belongs to Chile). So far they have also stole our Pisco, our Suspiro a la Limeña, some of their Chilean visitors to Macchu Pichu painted on the walls of Sacsayhuamán, etc., they're pissing down our dignity...

If Chile wants war, we shall give them war.

Why not settle this issue with a high stakes poker game?Money mouth

I would not be so quick to let our children die because we are upset they claim Pisco as their own...just a thought.

I have to question the motives of parents who are happy to have death and destruction reighn over the children of 2 lands becasue the politicans piss on each other, all the while let the terrorists funded by Chavez teach our children and hardly raise an eyebrown when the teachers bomb trains, burn down airports, kill students with rocks and generally terrorize a nation.

My priorities are with the children, not settling an acient feud over bird turds.

A real parent and patriot would make our politicians find a solution, not send our chidlren to die.

I'd rather die defending my country than still seeing that Chile continues pissing down our dignity.

The only one responsible for your dignity is you.  I should clarify what i said about the guano wars..Chile was wrong...but that is over and done..resloved..maybe not to your liking...but to keep living in that moment is simply childish.  ... and Chile is wrong now, and Peru should not accept it, but there are effective ways and non effective ways to respond and all this pissing and posturing helps nothing, and hurts many things.

I personally would want to see you in prison if you think it is ok to let children die because Chile claims Pisco...

Sticks and stones brother, sticks and stones..get a thicker skin before you send our children to die over utter nonsense.  The issue can be resolved without childish biggotries.

Tino if you are so interested in dying just get it over with.

You want to start a war because someone scribbled on the walls?

Surprised you didn't mention those disparaging videos that were shown on LAN several months back.

How many children should die because of that?

After all if those other things you mentioned were pissing on your dignity then the videos must have felt like someone taking a big dump on your head.

Dear friends, if you have something against my thoughts, email me at tino_rocanrolero@yahoo.es.

I didn't blame or criticise any of your opinions here, I just gave my way to see the situation. If you think you're right at all, it's okay, but I think that you both might be just foreigners, or at least one of you. I respect people, opinions, thoughts, etc., and I don't have a personal problem with anybody, not even with unknown people like you.

Well.... Chile is the one that it seems that is not interesting in a Pacific Solution. On the Contrary I heared the chilean ministry to said words that are not considered nice. So since hundreds years ago Chile is a country that war is a solution for them to get what they want.
Hopefully, now we have Globalization things are know by the whole world in minutes so Chile can not act in an aggresive way.
