Peru's stock market indexes ended sharply higher Wednesday, in good part due to strength in commodity prices such as copper, and to gains on Wall Street.
The Lima Stock Exchange's broad general index ended 1.96% higher at 13,115.49.
The General Index rose 1.96% to 13.115,49 points, and the selective blue-chip index ended 2.53% stronger at 21,559.38.
At present, the General Index accumulates a rise of 86,1%, after dropping 59,8% last year.
The mining subindex gained 2.97%. The sol strengthened, ending at PEN3.013 to the U.S. dollar. The sol closed at PEN3.024 per dollar in the previous session.
