The Geophysical Institute of Peru (IGP) reported on Thursday about an earthquake of magnitude 5.4 that was registered in the Ica region in Peru.
No material or personal damages have been reported so far anywhere in the country.
Also on Thursday, another earthquake was registered in South America. Earlier, a quake of magnitude 5.5 affected Iquique, in northern Chile, and caused it to also be felt in the Peruvian city of Tacna.
Peru is a region of major seismic activity and records approximately 200 minor earthquakes every year, so it’s very important to know what to do in case of an event of this kind. If you’re traveling to the Inca country, take a few minutes to be prepared and informed about how to handle these situations.
