7 Regions That Will Be Visited The Most During The Holidays

According to Mincetur (Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism), more than 760,000 people will travel this long weekend for the holidays, and Lima will be the most visited city in the country.

From Friday, June 29 to Sunday, July 1, Peru celebrates the holiday of San Pedro and San Pablo, and Mincetur reported, according to information from El Comercio, that thousands of people will travel across the country, resulting in an economic impact of $70 million US dollars.
The ministry also indicated which cities will be the most visited.

Lima is in the first place, specifically Lunahuaná, where it is estimated that 36% of the travelers during the holidays will go to. Then, La Libertad follows with 10%.

The third most visited city will be Cusco, with 7%. It’s many tourist attractions make the Imperial City a favorite place for travelers. It is tied by Piura with also 7%. With its paradisiac beaches like Máncora, visitors search for nice weather.

Arequipa is not left behind. It occupies the fourth place of the list with 6% of travelers. Then, follows Ica with its Huacachina lagoon, a must for any Peruvian tourist.

Finally, Junín, with also 6% is an essential stop for many travelers during this long weekend.
