The Attorney General of Peru, Pedro Chávarry, announced that today he will present his resignation to the Board of Supreme Prosecutors, after the controversy that weighs against him for his alleged links to corruption, as well as for his decisions regarding the Lava Jato Special Team.

The announcement was made through his Twitter account, informed Telesur.
Chávarry was elected prosecutor of the nation in June 2018, in the context of numerous criticisms against him due to audios that would prove various links between him and the former Supreme Judge César Hinostroza, an alleged leader of the criminal organization Los Cuellos Blancos del Puerto”, the aforementioned media said.

Recently, various sectors of the population, political parties and social organizations mobilized in the streets of Peru to demand the resignation of the prosecutor.
