A study conducted by the universities Oxford and Yale determined that exercising can make people happier than money because of the physical and mental benefits.
This study was published in The Lancet, according to Gestión, and it said it collected data “on the physical behavior and mental state of more than 1.2 million Americans”.
Participants were asked to answer the following question: “How many times have you felt mentally wrong in the past 30 days, for example, due to stress, depression or emotional problems?”
Participants were also asked about their income and physical activities. They could choose between 75 types of physical activity, from mowing the lawn, taking care of children and doing housework to lifting weights, riding a bicycle and running.
“The scientists found that while those who exercised regularly tended to feel bad for about 35 days a year, the non-active participants felt bad for 18 days more on average.
In addition, the researchers found that physically active people feel as well as those who do not play sports but earn about $25,000 US dollars more per year.
