Good news for Spanish tourists: They will have more options to visit Peru, in 2019. Iberia will add 3 more weekly flights between Madrid and Lima.
The dates to start this new itinerary will be on July and August 2019. In this way, the company reaches 10 flights a week to the Peruvian capital city. The information was revealed this Wednesday by the airline in a statement sent to preferente.com, and replicated by international media.
The new departures from Madrid will be scheduled on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays, and return from the Peruvian territory on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Times are not confirmed yet. These additional flights will be operated with a A340-600 aircraft. In total, 2,154 additional places per week will be offered on this route.
On the other hand, Iberia also confirmed Sao Paulo route will change the current A330 for the A340 aircraft. Using this plane, they can transport a thousand more weekly passengers on its daily flight to the Brazilian city.
At the same time, the premium tourist class to Havana and to Johannesburg was announced for next summer. Iberia has gone from four to seven weekly flights to El Salvador since October.
The company led by Luis Gallego is one of the companies with more connections between Europe and Latin America. In this market, Iberia has a competition with Air France-KLM alliance with Air Europa, as well as local operators such as Latam Airlines, Avianca or Aeroméxico.
