Men’s National Rugby Team Is South American Champion

The men’s national rugby team achieved the title of the M19 Costa Rican South American Championship 2018 and received the Fair Play award for their performance on the court.

According to information from El Peruano, “The Tumis” played three games and won all three without receiving a score against. “In the first match, they defeated Panama by 60-0 and then did the same against Guatemala, which they crushed by 90-0”, the media explained.

The last match was won 36-0 with a team composed by Juan Chuquipiondo, Luis Serra, Miguel Aguinaga, René Salinas, Gustavo Piñarreta, Gustavo Coronel-Zegarra, Ronaldo Pango, Edu Salazar (c), Stefano Caballero, Rodrigo Puente, Eduardo Jaramillo, Emerson Socualaya, Felix Velarde, Alvaro Hurtado and Johan Varela.

“The presence of Miguel Aguinaga (Jaguares de Trujillo), Ronaldo Pango (Lambayeque Rugby Club) and Juan Diaz (Gavilanes de Barranca) was outstanding”, said El Peruano.
