The FIFA 2018 Russia World Cup has officially begun, and many soccer fans travel, as in every occasion, to encourage their favorite team at the event’s headquarters.

La República published a list of the ten countries with the most tickets sold in Russia 2018. Five of Latin America are in the group, including Peru. This information states that until March 12, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Argentina, and Peru are among the countries with the highest ticket sales for the World Cup.

The country that requested up to that date the most tickets was Russia with 580,741, followed by the United States, with 63,699. Peru is in the ninth place with 28,778 tickets.

The head of the FIFA Ticket Management Department, Falk Eller, acknowledged that “this high level of demand in many cases exceeded the offer of the stadiums”, as you can read in La República.

Peru plays tomorrow against Denmark at 11:00 am local time. This is the first time after 36 years that a Peruvian team represents the country in a World Cup. The game will take place at the Mordovia Arena in the city of Saransk.

The next game for Peru will be the 21st against France in Ekaterinburg, and finally on June 26 against Australia in Sochi in the hopes of getting through the first stage of the competition.
