Peru Seeks To Retain Title As The Best Culinary Destination In World Travel Awards 2018

Peru competes to become the Best Culinary Destination once more in the World at the World Travel Awards (WTA) 2018, and therefore retain its title in this category.

“It was in 2017 that the country came to receive the award at the ceremony held in Phu Quoc, Vietnam, and Machu Picchu received recognition for Best Tourist Attraction”, El Comercio explained.

Isabella Falco, director of Imagen País of Promperú, said that the award is the result of work being done to improve the image of the country abroad.

“These recognitions that we receive as a country are the result of the work we are doing to promote our tourism resources and our gastronomy,” she told the media, adding that the recognitions received put Peru before the eyes of the world, especially before the elite of the travel industry.

Falco informed that Promperú is working very hard to keep Peru in the first place, which will, as a consequence, contribute to improving the quality of life of all those Peruvians whose welfare depends on the growth of international tourist arrivals.

“This year, Peru seeks to place itself once again at the top of gastronomic tourism in the world and is nominated for the 2018 edition of the World Travel Awards along with countries such as France, Japan, Italy, Malaysia, Spain and more”, said El Comercio.
