The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) reported that from this week the Peruvian exporters will have more facilities to send their products to Mexico, by enabling a digital certification of origin.
This certificate was traditionally delivered on paper, but now the transaction can be done digitally, which saves costs and time, according to El Comercio.
“The procedure is one of the benefits to which Peru agreed in the framework of the Pacific Alliance. Progressively, shipments to Chile and Colombia, also members of the bloc, will be incorporated into this modality”, the aforementioned media said.
It is important to inform that Peruvian businessmen who wish to use electronic certification must provide a digital signature and complete the process through the “Ventanilla Única de Comercio Exterior”, also known as VUCE.
“The Certification of Electronic Origin is one of the benefits of the interoperability of the VUCE members of the Pacific Alliance. We are moving forward with a common goal: to completely eliminate the use of paper in commercial operations and certifications,” the Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade, Sayuri Bayona, said.
